Event Phase

Upon entering the Space Hulk, the Marines embark on a journey into the unknown. A jumble mass of derelict star ships, meteorites and other objects flying through space, infected with Stealers.

These objects can be so old that they are in a state of constant decay. Crumbling and collapsing from being twisted and pulled during its long voyage around the universe.

Space Hulks can be in different states at different times, sometimes experiencing moments of calm and steadiness, other times, extreme violence.

Depending on the Space Hulk’s stability determines how often an Event occurs. Roll 1x D6, an Event happens on a:

If an Event occurs, the top card of the Event deck is revealed and actioned. See Event Cards for details.

If there are no more Event cards to play, the player who did not shuffle the cards last time, shuffles them now to form the new Event deck. (Note: any Event cards played that state ‘discard after use’ can never be used again during the current game)

Event cards can trigger things such as Power Outlets to erupt into sparks of electrical outburst, life systems to eject toxic gas into the local area, pitfalls to open, piles of rubble to fall and other dangers to contend with.

These events can be beneficial to one player and detrimental to the other. They make the Space Hulk a living, breathing environment adding an extra layer of experience.
