Ladders

Ladder (Top)
Ladder (Bottom)

Ladders are a means to get from one level to another.  They will always be in sets of two, a Top and a Bottom.

  • Allows Movement.
  • Allows LOS.
  • Cannot be destroyed.
  • A Top Ladder always links to a Bottom Ladder (and vice versa). The mission maps will highlight positions.
  • Any unit can use a Ladder to move to its linked Ladder position.
  • Tyranid units can engage close assault on Ladders, if the Attacker (Genestealer, Corripiofax, Hormagaunt, Broodlord) is standing on a top or bottom ladder square and the Marine is on the linked ladder square. Marines cannot engage close assault between levels (only defend themselves).

LOS between levels

Ladder sections offer a LOS view to the other level, but due to the thickness of the flooring, this view is somewhat limited.  All units standing on or next to and facing, a Ladder square, will have LOS to the linked Ladder square only, in addition to their normal LOS on their current level.
