Toxic Gas

Full Strength Toxin counter
Half Strength Toxin counter

Toxic counters have 2 sides:

  • Full Strength
  • Half Strength

When a Toxic counter is first placed on the board it is faced Full Strength side up.

During the Reset phase, all Half Strength Toxic counters are removed and all Full Strength Toxic counters are flipped over.

  • Blocks Movement into Toxin for Stealer units only.
  • Blocks LOS (Except Assault Cannon LOS)
  • For each Stealer unit within a Full-Strength Toxic counter, roll 2xD6.
  • The Stealer unit is killed if one of the dice is a 4+ (Broodlord requires both dice to be 4+).
  • All surviving units may, during their turn, move out of a Toxic counter, only if there is a valid empty adjacent square (and if they have enough APs to do so). They are now considered free of the Toxic gas and can carry on performing Actions if they can.
  • All surviving Stealer units within a Toxic counter that cannot move to a valid adjacent empty square MUST remain still for the duration of the Toxic effect. These units cannot perform any Actions or play Tactical cards.
  • Toxic counters remain on the board for 2 turns (see above for details).
  • If Toxic gas comes into contact with Fire or Plasma (by being a square adjacent) then all Toxic counters are converted to Fire counters immediately and they now, follow rules for Fire.
